About the Recipe

Enjoy some seriously delicious crunchy onion rings! They're golden and crispy on the outside, with a sweet and tender onion inside. Each bite is crunchy and full of flavor. They're great as an appetizer or just for snacking.

Ingredients

  • 1 big onion

  • 4 tbsp. corn starch

  • 1/2 cup corn flakes

  • 2 tbsp. flax seeds

  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1 cup sunflower oil

Preparation

Step 1: Start by cutting the onion into rings. Separate each ring and place them in a dish.

Step 2: Blend the cornflakes so they become like flour. Boil the flax seeds in 1/2 cup water for 15 minutes. Let the water cool.

Step 3: In one dish, place the corn starch, the flax seed water in another, and the blended cornflakes with the spices and salt in the third.

Step 4: Take one onion ring, and start by dipping it in the corn starch, cover it well with corn starch, then dip it in the flax seed water and finally in the cornflakes.

Step 5: Preheat the oil and fry the rings for 10 minutes. Take them out and place them on a paper plate or paper towel so it can absorb the extra oil.
